Why I Say “No” to Cat Eye Eyeliner in Permanent Makeup

As a permanent makeup artist, I get asked all the time about cat eye eyeliner. And while I love the drama and beauty of a good wing, I’ve made the decision not to offer this style—and here’s why:
Gravity.
Let’s be real: as time passes, our skin naturally changes. The sharp, lifted wing that looks amazing today? It won’t stay that way forever. With age and gravity, that line will shift—and unfortunately, when it’s permanent, it won’t shift in a flattering way.
Laser removal? Ouch.
Removing permanent eyeliner—especially in the delicate eye area—is incredibly painful and not something I’d ever want to put my clients through unless absolutely necessary. It’s expensive, uncomfortable, and often doesn’t remove pigment 100%.
That’s why I only offer classic, timeless eyeliner styles that enhance your natural beauty and age gracefully with you. A clean lash enhancement or a soft top liner can make your eyes pop in the most flattering way—without the risk of regret down the line.
This is just my professional opinion, and I fully respect that some artists feel differently. But I choose to stand by what’s best for my clients long-term.
If you’re thinking about eyeliner tattoo, let’s talk about a style that will still look amazing in 10+ years.
